  3. introducing its NEW 4mm 2-GIGABYTE 90 METER CARTRIDGE to its line.

  5. By adding this new 4mm product, DIC///DIGITAL now offers the most complete
  6. line of 4mm and 8mm products in the industry; from its 162 Megabyte
  7. cartridge for data transfer to its new 2-GIGABYTE product, which is
  8. capable of storing up to 8-GIGABYTES with compression.

  10. "In today's backup media market 4mm and 8mm are making a strong
  11. penetration, by offering a lower priced drive and the capability of
  12. storing more data on a very compact cartridge, at a very low price per
  13. megabyte", says J. Martinez, President of DIC Digital.

  15. "The 4mm market had a slow start in the large storage installations, but
  16. now with the introduction of new drives and the 90 meter media, the
  17. storage capabilities of 4mm are equaling, and in some cases, exceeding
  18. that of 8mm. Therefore, we do not see 4mm replacing 8mm, but between the
  19. two new technologies they are replacing the applications using old fashion
  20. analogue tapes.", Martinez adds.

  24. Along with its ability to make the very stable, low error rate 90 meter
  25. tape, DIC has redesigned its cartridge and is now the only company
  26. offering a new Data Grade cassette to meet stringent computer industry
  27. applications.

  29. DIC Digitals 90 meter product is being introduced at Comdex in October in
  30. Las Vegas. All DIC products are available through a network of computer
  31. dealers, distributors and resellers.
